Mayor of London assertion in response to terrorist atrocities in Paris

Following the current terrorist assaults in Paris, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson MP has issued the next assertion

“I’ve written this morning to Mayor Hidalgo to convey the sense of shock and grief of tens of millions of Londoners on the tragic occasions in Paris. Our ideas at this time are with the victims and their households and with the entire French individuals.

“We regard Paris as our sister metropolis, a spot for which we’ve deep reserves of affection and admiration and respect. We’re two capitals united in our values – democratic freedom, openness and tolerance.

“The individuals who launched the assaults final night time haven’t any such values. They want to undermine the issues we maintain most valuable. They need to set neighbour towards neighbour. They need to unfold worry.

“They won’t succeed. As president Hollande has rightly stated, they need to and will probably be defeated. We stand prepared in London to do every thing in our energy – to do no matter it takes – to help in a wrestle that embraces us all.”
